We started PluginTracker the way most plugin-author tools start: scratching our own itch. We were shipping plugins to WordPress.org and had no idea, day to day, whether our changes helped or hurt. The directory told us “10,000+” for months at a time while our support inbox, reviews, and rankings told a very different story.
