Terms of service
What you agree to when you use PluginTracker, written from what the software actually does.

What the service is
PluginTracker measures WordPress.org plugins. It records daily install estimates, downloads, ratings, reviews, support activity and keyword positions for plugins you choose to track, and presents them alongside tools that draft replies to reviews and support tickets.
It is not affiliated with WordPress.org, Automattic, or the WordPress Foundation. Public plugin data is read from WordPress.org, and the install figure is an estimatecomputed from the directory’s own rounded bucket — it is not a number WordPress.org publishes, and we do not present it as one.
Your account
You need an account to track a plugin. You are responsible for what happens under it, including anything done by someone you give access to. Tell us if you think it has been used without your permission.
One person or organisation per account. Plan limits are counted per account, and working around them by splitting one organisation across several accounts is a breach of these terms rather than a clever configuration.
You do not need to prove you own a plugin to track it. Public directory data is public. Claiming a plugin profile is a separate step and does require ownership.
Trials, payment and cancellation
| Term | What applies |
|---|---|
| Trial length | 14 days from the day you add your first plugin |
| Trial payment | None. No card is required to start. |
| Billing | In advance, monthly or annually, on the date you subscribed |
| Cancellation | Any time. Stops the next charge; access continues to the end of the period you already paid for. |
| Subscription refunds | Not refunded |
| Lifetime refunds | 30-day window |
Subscriptions are not refunded. The 14-day trial is the evaluation period, and cancelling stops the next charge while you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Lifetime purchases carry a 30-day refund window, no questions asked. It is a one-time charge, so if it is not paying for itself in the first month we refund it in full. The refund policy has the detail.
Prices can change. An existing subscription keeps its price for as long as it stays active; a change applies from the next renewal after we tell you, and you can cancel before it takes effect. We do not change the price of a lifetime purchase after the fact — that is the point of buying one.
What happens when a trial or subscription ends
Access to protected figures is locked. Nothing is deleted. Install history keeps accruing while an account is inactive, so unlocking returns those days rather than starting again from the day you came back.
This is deliberate and it is worth stating in the terms rather than only in the privacy policy: the data you accumulated is the reason to come back, and holding it hostage or discarding it would both be worse products. Deletion happens on the retention schedule in the privacy policy, or when you ask us to close the account.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Resell, redistribute or publish the measured data as a competing dataset. Reading your own plugins’ numbers, embedding a badge, and sharing a report with your own team are all fine.
- Scrape, bulk-export or automate against the service outside the documented API and the limits of your plan.
- Attempt to reach data belonging to another account, or to probe, load-test or disrupt the service. Responsible security research is welcome — contact us first.
- Use the AI drafting tools to generate content you then present as written by someone else, or to send replies you have not read. They draft; you send.
- Submit telemetry gathered without the site administrator’s consent. The SDK enforces a double consent gate, and defeating it breaks both these terms and WordPress.org’s guidelines.
We can suspend an account that is doing any of the above. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will say what the problem is and give you a chance to fix it first.
Your data and your content
You keep ownership of everything you put in: your plugins, your keywords, your goals, your telemetry, and anything you write. We use it to run the service for you — computing your figures, sending what you asked to be sent, and generating drafts you requested.
We do not sell it, and we do not use one customer’s telemetry to inform another customer’s reports. What we collect, and how long each kind of it is kept, is set out in the privacy policy, which is transcribed from the code rather than from intent.
AI drafts are generated from your own plugin’s reviews, tickets and readme. Output is yours to use. It is also machine-generated and sometimes wrong, which is why nothing is sent on your behalf without you pressing send.
Availability and support
We aim to keep the service running and the daily sync on schedule, and the status page says what runs when. There is no uptime guarantee. Saying otherwise while a single daily sync can be delayed by an upstream directory would be a promise about somebody else’s infrastructure.
Support runs Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. A request arriving outside those hours is counted from the start of the next business day, in our working timezone rather than yours — stated plainly, because the alternative is you counting from your Monday and us counting from ours.
| Plan | First response | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Best effort | Answered when we can. No target, because a free tier that promises a response time is promising staff time nobody paid for. |
| 1 Plugin | 2 business days | First response. Includes the 14-day trial. |
| 5 Plugins | 2 business days | First response. |
| 10 Plugins | 1 business day | First response. |
A first response means a reply from a person who has read your message — not an autoresponder and not a ticket number. It is deliberately a response target and not a resolution target: how long a fix takes depends on what is broken, and a resolution time we cannot predict is one we would either pad into uselessness or miss. These are targets. No service credit or other remedy attaches to missing one.
Support covers the service not working or working differently from how it is documented, what a figure means and why it moved, billing and account access, and integrating the telemetry SDK. It does not cover debugging your own plugin or your customers’ WordPress installations, writing your marketing copy for you, or a timeline for a feature request.
The limits of what we promise
The service is provided as it is. Install figures are estimates, projections are projections, and rank positions are a reading taken at one moment from a search that changes. Decisions about your business are yours.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including lost revenue, lost users, or decisions made on a figure that turned out to be wrong. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is capped at what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be removed by agreement.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using the service and close your account whenever you like. We can end an account for a serious or repeated breach of the acceptable-use terms above, or if we stop offering the service — in which case we will give reasonable notice and, for a subscription paid in advance, refund the unused part of the period.
Changes to these terms
We will post a new version here with a new date. If a change materially reduces what you get or increases what you owe, we will tell subscribers before it applies. Continuing to use the service after that is acceptance; if you would rather not, cancel before it takes effect.
