Great plugin
Hi. It seems to be doing its job. I am happy with it. Thanks 🙂 [Blackhole for Bad Bots]

Be very careful …
I appreciate the protection Blackhole for Badbots has given me for a couple of years, but suddenly I’m getting emails from Google saying their crawlers have been blocked and, within two days, my ranking has plummeted. I know the issue is the caching, and there are posts online about this for when the plugin’s used…

Didn’t work, and too many features gatekept
Didn’t work in testing on latest WP + Nginx 1.14.1 when following the nofollow link. The logs should at least be viewable to the site admin, it’s just mean gatekeeping that. This topic was modified 1 year, 11 months ago by abctaylor.

Works perfectly, prevents Malware injection
The plugin does an amazing job. I have one “research-test-site” where I use a combination of plugins, that are not supported any longer. The result: the site is getting hacked (Malware injection) every 1-2 weeks. Then I restored the site and audited it again. Wordfence free didn’t do anything, well they correctly…

Not working
Sorry, but you guys failed to block Amazon bot and Claudebot, these AI tools are killers. Since i set it up at 2am, I have over 50000 requests and it is 10 am.

Criminal IP marks this plugin as phishing
I added this to my site; when I tried to add Google Analytics, they scanned my site and then my URL was marked with phishing — this plugin was one of the culprits. I don’t believe this plugin itself has phishing content, but the way it’s coded into the website gives a red flag to Criminal IP because it’s a ‘hidden…

Did not work with LSCache
I hate to give a negative score and I am sure it’s a great plugin for those who have a set up where it works, but for me it turned out this plugin was not compatible with LSCache. Had to uninstall it. Edit: I changed the score after discussions with the author. It’s a great plugin and I was being unfair. Hope to see…

Simple and Effective
This is a great, easy to setup, plugin, that I highly recommend. I have it installed on about 15 websites I manage. A simple and effective solution for cutting down on malicious and resource wasting bot activity. This topic was modified 2 years, 6 months ago by Jason.

Amazing plugin
This is the best bot ass kicker ever. Period.

Very helpful, barely any setup
The blackhole plugin has been a useful part of my offensive countermeasures on my site, and its completely invisible. The idea is clever, and its a bit satisfying to think of bots just walking themselves into the banhammer. The user interface is also very straightforward, with just enough customization to prevent it…

Must install plugin
I use several plugins on any website I build – and I like them all. And I especially like this one. Having created a variety of black hole traps for bots on my own, I love the simplicity of this one! It is easy to set up and configure and has quickly joined the ranks of ‘must install’ plugins in my arsenal! The range…

It Does What It Says It Will Do
Since the site I administer is not primarily for the general public, I spend a lot of time trying to keep the bots away, both for the security of the site, and the privacy of those using it. Even though our site uses protection offered by Cloudflare, there are still some bots that manage to get through. I liked what…

Malware file in Blackhole for Bad Bots plugin
Godaddy sent me a notification of a malware file within the WordPress Blackhole For Bad Bots plugin. Love the plugin but that was a little strange. I removed the file so we’ll see if it affects the plugin performance. This topic was modified 3 years, 8 months ago by ajnay.

I think it works. I think its safe.
I installed Black Hole for Bad Bots two months ago when I was being hammered by crawlers, and in that time it nabbed a couple of bad bots. Good. No stability or performance issues. Seems reliable and apparently it works as described on the back of the box.

Keeps blocking Google Bots
At first, this plugin seemed very promising, but then it keeps blocking Google Bots. It blocked Adsense and also Google Search Console kept telling me there were indexing issues, all this despite of whitelisting bots or not.
